| We booked the heritage room and it was beautiful and spacious with really high ceilings! Also, our room has 2 bathrooms, though i suspect that not all the rooms has that.
Wonderfully attentive staff, always willing to go out of their way to organise birding trips and village walks for us, despite the fact that there are only 2 of us! We also enjoyed the sunset cruises and snacks every day!
The food in the restaurants were good but a tad expensive considering the much cheaper food we had elsewhere in Kerela.
The best part of the stay has to be when we got upgraded to a pool villa for our second night!!! We had our own verandah and private pool! There was also an outdoor bathroom :) The only downside to the pool villa was that the bed was queen-sized which was quite wierd considering that we got the king-sized bed in the heritage room. Anyway, the bed was plush and extremely comfortable :) |

| Maybe we were expecting a lot from Taj... It was a nice property but the expectation had been raised by the views presented on the web.
Therefore 1st the cons:
The room given to us was two categories lower than what we saw on the net while booking. The lagoon view was nothing much to talk about. The bathrooms were not properly maintained and the accessories were worn out and substandard. There were hardly any of the promised activities for the kids and we had to struggle to get the few which were available.
Pros:
The property otherwise is well spread and the view from one end (where it meets the Kumarakom lake) is nice. The rooms are comfortable and clean (even if not really luxurious). The chef was very nice and specially provided vegetarian meal cooked to our specification!! The staff was courteous. |

| we had a family trip to kerala. we were amazed at the time we entered the property with its openness and water bodies. it was so close to nature.
the staff was friendly. the south indian food was good but a lot is desired to improve the taste of the north indian food.
room was spacious and clean but a lot could be done to modernise it. the bathrooms were outdated and we hear they are going to be renovated.
the place is a delight, the massage was traditional and excellent. it is a dream vacation with such few cottages in acres of green.
the administration staff was concerned about our stay and comfort, it was lovely to feel welcomed. |

| This is one of the most beautiful resorts you can stay in - the ambience created by the hotel is lovely - each cottage gives you privacy since you face the pond and when the diyas are lit up in the evening it is a beautiful sight. The staff is wonderful and very helpful and do whatever is needed to make your stay there memorable. |

| We had a wonderful time. The rooms were clean and well equipped. A real touch of luxury. The outdoors bathroom with a bath was lovely. Tea, snacks and games were fun. All the staff were helpful and considerate. We would highly recommend the hotel. The only thing we found a bit disappointing was the houseboat experience which was arranged via the hotel. We expected to see more of the backwaters and less of the lake. For the price we paid the facilities were quite basic with one small towel to share. Food was excellent but we hadn't expected to pay extra for food for our evening meal. Next time we would book 2 nights in the hotel and take a day cruise instead.

| Spent one night at the Taj with my wife and 18 month old son, and really enjoyed ourselveas. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. They continued to go above and beyond to take care of me my wife and were excellent with my son (on several occasions going above and beyond to make him happy). It is very quiet at the hotel, so if youre looking for a nice peaceful and quiet getaway this is a great place to stay. We took a private houseboat onto the lake, but the Taj offers a 45 minute ride if you want a quick tour. Overall it was quite enjoyable. Two nights may have been the correct amount of time to spend here, as you need some time to get out and explore the backwaters! |
